Researchers in the Food Processing Technology Division are developing innovative engineering and technology solutions that improve the overall performance and efficiency of the production process from farm to fork. Challenges include improving animal health and welfare; reducing water usage and environmental impact; achieving labor efficiencies through automation, specifically systems that improve process efficiencies and/or product quality and food safety; and developing workplace safety methods and technologies.
